Happydog Guest Blog
Every month, one of my friends, colleagues or students will be a guest blogger, answering the question, "What makes you happy?" Checkout this month's guest post:

When Dr. B asked me what makes me happy, I had to really think about it. Do you know how hard it is to pick just three things that make you genuinely happy?! In case you were wondering, it’s pretty difficult. I did my best to shorten my long list of what makes me a Happydog. I hope you enjoy!
New Found Confidence
Lately, I’ve been having these moments where I really surprise myself. Someone will ask me for my advice on something (99.99% of the time it has to deal with PR) and I can confidently respond. It’s one of the coolest feelings I have ever experienced. It makes me really happy to realize that all of the work I am putting into my education is paying off. It feels good to feel like I know what I’m doing with my life and that I’m going to have a great future ahead of me.
Genuine Friendship
Growing up, I always had a lot of friends. My grandma gave me the title “social butterfly” at the mere age of six. I loved to talk and meet new people, so the title was very appropriate. Though I had a lot of friends, they were never real friends, mainly just people I could small talk with. I’ve recently been blessed with a handful of people that I’m lucky enough to call “Team Awesome.” You did read that correctly, I do call my friends Team Awesome.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said: “The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship.”
Getting Lost in Words
Words are my all time favorite thing in the world. Not necessarily words by themselves, but the perfect combination of words to create powerful messages. I happen to be a sucker for quotes. It doesn’t matter what kind of mood you are in, you can always find a quote to help you figure out how you’re feeling. I find it absolutely fascinating that the perfect combination of words can be so moving to people. I keep track of some of my favorite quotes on Pinterest.
Since I love quotes so much, it’s only appropriate that I end this with one of my favorites: “Your life is your message to the world. Make sure it’s inspiring.” Take that quote to heart and truly live your life to fullest. Be the best Happydog you can possibly be.
